As a child, I wanted to paint and teach.
As a teacher, my hobbies were painting and sketching.
As a Headteacher, I did urge,
“Follow your dreams, your passions your joy.”
“Arts are essential for our wellbeing.”
Now, I hope I bring you joy.

Working with wood creates an affinity with Nature. I love the texture and the imprint of the grain which gives wood reliefs an added texture. Many of my subjects are local Sussex scenes but I also capture vivid dreams, which I just have to carve!

Each carving notch is purposeful to capture the movement, using specific tools whilst exploring the grain. I roll and blend inks to create differing atmospheres and love working on Victorian printing presses. You never know how the image will be, as the pressure or weather can impact on the outcome. No two pieces are alike so everyone gets an unique work of art.
