Michael Steven Harris, winner of the 2026 South Downs National Park Astro Competition, specialises in landscape astrophotography and creates unique almost impossible photos of Brighton and surrounding areas.

Whilst his number one passion is capturing all the wonders that the night sky has to offer, he also loves to photograph all of the beautiful sights and scenery of this fantastic city.  

In 2024, he was shortlisted in both the Street and Low Light categories for the prestigious British Photography Awards; he received the People’s Choice award in the South Downs National Park Summer and Astro Photography competition. He also won Outdoor Photographer Magazine‘s Astro Landscapes competition and was a finalist in the CIOB’s Art of Building competition.  He was Artists Open Houses ‘Photographer of the Year’ in 2023.
